Sheriff Steve Rand reports that the suspect in Thursday's armed robbery at the Jackson City County Credit Union has been apprehended.  Detectives were assisted by leads that were developed utilizing Facebook.  Less than 12 hours after the crime occurred, the suspect was brought to the County Jail by Detectives.

Yesterday afternoon, after a lead from Facebook developed and the identity of the suspect became known, all area police agencies were provided his information.  In the early evening hours, the 23 year-old Summit Township man was stopped by City Police offers on W. Mason Street and surrendered without resistance.  Sheriff Detectives believe they have recovered the weapon used and the proceeds from the robbery.

The identity of the suspect is being withheld pending arraignment.
