Road Work Halted For Race Weekend

The Michigan Department of Transportation will suspend work and reopen lanes on major state highways in South Central Michigan this weekend for the first big race of the season at Michigan International Speedway.  That includes I-94 in Jackson and M-50 in Lenawee County.  The Quicken Loans 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Race will be held on Sunday.  Overall, work on most state roads in counties surrounding MIS will be suspended from 7:00 AM Thursday until 7:00 AM Tuesday, June 19th.  M-DOT says however that several projects still will have restrictions in place over race weekend and urges motorists to drive with caution in work zones.  M-DOT is posting MIS race day travel information on their websites.  The information includes maps, information about statewide construction projects and information about the inbound and outbound traffic patterns.
