JPS Has Opportunities To Talk About 2012-2013 Budget
Those interested in seeing a presentation about Jackson Public School’s 2012-2013 budget can attend any of a number of meeting in the district’s schools. JPS already announced an anticipated $2.7 million shortfall and has proposed eliminating 10 elementary school, two middle school and two high school teaching positions and cutting school supply funds by $25,000 to shave about a million off. The district is hoping to explain the shortfall and get community input. A community forum is set for 6:00 May 29 at Jackson High School. Meetings for staff and parents are also set up at each JPS building. The remainder of the schedule is:

May 23, 3:45 at Northeast Elementary School
May 24, 2:45 at T.A. Wilson Academy and 4:00 at McCulloch Academy
May 29, 1:45 at Hunt Elementary and 3:45 at Sharp Park Academy
May 30, 2:45 at Jackson High School and 3:45 at Frost Elementary
May 31, 3:45 at Cascades Elementary School.
