Early Sunday morning Deputies from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department responded to the Buddy’s Mini-Mart in Vandercook Lake for an armed robbery. The clerk said a white man entered the store armed with a knife and demanded money. The clerk complied and the man ran from the store. Deputies began searching the area for anyone matching the description of the suspect. He was soon spotted on Third Street near Parkway. Money and the weapon were both found on the suspect. The 35 year old Jay H. Crone of Jackson was taken into custody and is now facing charges of armed robbery. He was arraigned on Tuesday.
