Over a hundred participants from Jackson and Lenawee County braved the freezing cold waters of Clarklake and took part in the 2013 Polar Plunge. Proceeds from the event will go to benefit Special Olympics, John Gates organized this year’s plunge.
Brooklyn resident 14 year old Daniel Peek jumped in with the Columbia Township fire department this year and he said it was intense.
Gates said they hoped to raise $40,000 for the Special Olympics with this event.
