Detroit Tigers starter Max Scherzer got win number 13 on the season Wednesday night as the Tigers beat the Blue-Jays 6-2 in Toronto. Scherzer is the first player since Roger Clemens in 1986 to start the season 13-0. Scherzer pitched six and a third innings Wednesday allowing two runs on seven hits with 8 strikeouts. The offense was supplied in part by Alex Avila who hit a three run homerun and Victor Martinez who hit a solo shot and had two RBI.
