JCC Girls Forced To Forfeit Games

The Jackson Community College women’s basketball team had to forfeit the rest of their season as a result of a fight during their last basketball game.  At the last regular season game for the Jets against Glen Oaks Community College on February 27th play was suspended and 19 JCC basketball players were ejected following a physical altercation. According to the JCC Student Athlete Handbook if an athlete is ejected from a game they must serve a two game suspension.  JCC was unable to field a team and was forced to forfeit their place in regional competition.  A press release from Jackson Community College indicates that President Dan Phelan and the JCC administration does not condone this type of behavior and are sadden the girls basketball season had to end on a sour note.
