Friday morning a fire destroyed an apartment building at Ridgewood Vista Apartments.  Everything inside was destroyed and six families with children have been displaced.  Investigation into the fire is continuing, the cause is still unknown.  Executive Director of the South Central Michigan Chapter of the American Red Cross Shelly Hendrick stated on her facebook timeline that their Disaster Action Team was on the scene providing food, comfort, clothing and shelter assistance.  The South Central Michigan Chapter of the American Red Cross is accepting donations to assist the six families with children who are now without a home.  Call their office at 517-782-9486 or mail your donation to 3425 Francis Street, Jackson Michigan 49203.
