Officers from the Jackson Police Department arrested 31 year old Amber M. Murphy from Jackson on Tuesday.  She’s facing charges today of premeditated murder in the first degree, felony murder and first degree child abuse in connection to the 2009 death of her 9 month old son Seth Murphy.  In August of 2009 Police responded to Allegiance Health for a child abuse report.  At that time Seth had a severe head injury, he was flown to U of M.  Two days later he died from his injuries.  Following a two and a half year investigation, Detectives Gary Schuette and Ed Smith received an arrest warrant and she was finally taken into custody.  Amber M. Murphy was arraigned on the charges Wednesday afternoon.
