Sheriff Steve Rand reports that on Friday, just after 10 PM, Deputies from the Jackson County Office of the Sheriff arrested a 61 year-old Jackson man for sexual assault.

Deputy James Moore was dispatched to an address in Rives Township for a report of a sexual assault.  The victim advised that the suspect threw her to the ground and began groping her.  The victim was able to fight off the suspect and call 911.  Deputy Moore located the suspect at his home and arrested him for sexual assault.  The suspect was intoxicated and uncooperative.  The suspect was lodged at the Jackson County Jail on the charge of criminal sexual conduct 2nd degree.
